DESCRIPTION
Suncor Energy Inc. operates as an integrated energy company. The company primarily focuses on developing petroleum resource basins in Canada's Athabasca oil sands; explores, acquires, develops, produces, transports, refines, and markets crude oil in Canada and internationally; markets petroleum and petrochemical products under the Petro-Canada name primarily in Canada. It operates through Oil Sands; Exploration and Production; Refining and Marketing; and Corporate and Eliminations segments. The Oil Sands segment recovers bitumen from mining and in situ operations, and upgrades it into refinery feedstock and diesel fuel, or blends the bitumen with diluent for direct sale to market. The Exploration and Production segment is involved in offshore operations off the east coast of Canada and in the North Sea; and operating onshore assets in Libya and Syria. The Refining and Marketing segment refines crude oil and intermediate feedstock into various petroleum and petrochemical products; and markets refined petroleum products to retail, commercial, and industrial customers through its other retail sellers. The Corporate and Eliminations segment operates four wind farms in Ontario and Western Canada. The company also markets and trades in crude oil, natural gas, byproducts, refined products, and power. The company was formerly known as Suncor Inc. and changed its name to Suncor Energy Inc. in April 1997. Suncor Energy Inc. was founded in 1917 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

Why I Believe Energy Is The Ultimate Long-Term Bet - And Why It's Only Getting Better
seekingalpha.com
2025-09-29 07:30:00Energy stocks offer compelling value due to low sector valuations, supply constraints, and long-term demand growth, making the sector highly attractive for investors. OPEC+ spare capacity is dwindling, U.S. shale investment is declining, and political risks are curbing new supply, setting up a bullish environment for oil prices. Key investment ideas include Canadian oil sands, Permian Basin producers, and royalty/landowner companies, with a positive outlook for select natural gas and service firms.

I'm Convinced Energy Is The Most Misunderstood Investment Opportunity Of The Decade
seekingalpha.com
2025-09-13 07:30:00I focus on big, long-term trends and dedicate energy to sectors with tremendous value, even if they're temporarily out of favor. Earlier this year, defense contractors were extremely undervalued, but patient investors have since been rewarded as the market recognized their strengths. My investment style emphasizes patience and thesis-driven investing, which isn't for everyone. Index fund investors should stick to consistency and diversification.

My #1 Contrarian Bet: Why I'm Betting Big On The Market's Most Undervalued Sector
seekingalpha.com
2025-08-26 07:30:00Energy is the most unloved and undervalued S&P 500 sector, offering significant contrarian opportunity for income and capital gains. Smart money is quietly accumulating energy stocks despite recent underperformance, as current oil prices are unsustainable for producers and OPEC. Royalty companies like Viper Energy and Kimbell Royalty Partners, as well as Canadian producers (among others), offer high yields and strong long-term fundamentals.

Suncor Energy: The Multi-Decade Oil Sands Opportunity

The company is an oil sands company with a strong and integrated portfolio of assets, including upstream, midstream, and downstream. The company has a strong dividend that it's continuing to grow and a commitment to share repurchases.

Oil Be Rich - Some Of My Favorite Energy Investments Everyone Should Know
seekingalpha.com
2025-08-13 07:30:00Energy stocks are deeply hated and out of favor, with prices low and investors fleeing, creating rare opportunities for savvy, patient buyers. The sector's challenges are cyclical and tied to economic growth indicators. When the cycle turns, energy's upside could be powerful and long-lasting. I focus on capital-light, resilient companies that thrive despite volatility, aiming to collect steady dividends while waiting for the cycle to flip.

Suncor Energy: Value, Dividends, And Share Buybacks
