Citigroup Inc (C.N) reached an agreement with all 10 Revlon Inc (REVRQ.PK) lenders it mistakenly paid about $500 million on a loan, ending litigation of more than two years, a court document showed on Friday.

After becoming very popular with retail investors on social media, Revlon (NYSE: REV ) stock will be delisted soon. The cosmetics company declared bankruptcy in June, citing its huge debt and supply-chain issues.

Revlon Inc. REV, -5.34% said late Thursday a New York Stock Exchange committee rejected its appeal to not delist its stock and expects to be delisted "in the hear future." Back in August, Revlon shares tumbled when a bankruptcy judge denied minority shareholders a special committee to represent them.

Although contrarianism captured headlines through the first two years of the coronavirus pandemic, it's now time for investors to consider the topic of short-squeeze stocks to sell before traders cash out. Fundamentally, when bears target weak companies, it's usually for glaring vulnerabilities.

Revlon (NYSE: REV ) stock is in the red this morning after rising by as much as 30% yesterday. Earlier this week, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied a request for Revlon lenders — such as Brigade Capital Management and Symphony Asset Management — to review a three-judge panel's ruling that said they must pay back $504 million erroneously wired to them by Citigroup (NYSE: C ) in 2020.

During a strong day for the broader market indices, shares of cosmetics giant Revlon (NYSE: REV ) got Wall Street talking again. REV stock jumped 25% in the morning hours before tacking on additional gains in the afternoon session.

Volatility in the stock and bond markets didn't help Revlon's rebound prospects.

Revlon (NYSE: REV ) stock has been falling all day since Citigroup (NYSE: C ) won a court decision against some of its creditors. A federal appeals court has ruled that Citibank accidentally sent $500 million to several Revlon lenders and that all funds should thereby be returned.

The company's stockholders were dealt a bruising legal blow.

Shares of Revlon (NYSE: REV ) are not faring well on Wednesday, with shares down about 12% in the session. At today's low, REV stock was down 19.9%, and for the week, it's still down about 21%.

A U.S. bankruptcy judge on Wednesday declined to appoint an equity committee in Revlon Inc's bankruptcy, rejecting a minority shareholder demand for a greater say in the cosmetics company's restructuring.
